Falls way short for a "Flagship" headunit
I bought this for the plug and play connectivity for my Tundra. That is the only pro about it. It almost went back in the box day 1, but I thought I would give it a chance. It still has not lived up to the functionality of the factory unit.Bluetooth calling is horrible. I can hear callers, but they can barely hear me, even if I put the microphone within inches of my face. I even changed the mic gain settings on the head unit. (every aftermarket unit I have used has fallen short with bluetooth calling).I cannot stream audio via bluetooth. Your device must be physically connected for streaming to work properly. Otherwise audio is slowed down and it changes the pitch. There is only one (1) USB connection, so you have to choose between plugging is a USB drive for music, or connecting your phone for android auto. All literature says that this has an AUX input, but the iDataLink module uses that input, so AUX input is not available. That info is found in small print in the manual, but is contrary to the feature list for this model specific to the Toyota Tundra sold with the iDataLink module. The screen resolution is not as good as the factory head unit. It also displays text on the screen when in reverse which takes up some screen realestate.Audio is worse with the new head unit. Sound is very "tinny", and EQ/fade adjustments don't help much. Unfortunately, an amp/subwoofer addition would be necessary to improve sound quality.Google maps shows that you are off course, while Waze navigation works fine. For a unit that has functionality similar this one, I would expect to pay less than half the cost of what I paid for this thing. Overall I am disappointed, and I am surprised that Alpine would claim this as a "flagship" head-unit.Update: I turned on HD media bluetooth option on my phone and it seems to have solved the bluetooth issues. upgrading from 1 stars to 3.

Works perfect straight out of the box
Very cool. Took me about 2.5 hours to install----and honestly more than 1/2 of that was installing the remote microphone. The rest is very simple. I have zero car audio or electronic installation experience, but Im handy with most things. Works perfectly......My primary purpose was to upgrade so that I could use APPLE CAR PLAY. But bonus is that it looks great and actually sounds better too. Every feature seems to work well. The backup camera looks pretty grainy, but I just finished and its dark out, so it may be fine in the daylight. I just laid everything out on my living room floor and read/re-read the directions several times until I had a really clear idea of where every item was going to be hooked up----the directions that come with it are pretty good, although black and white photos that arent always clear. I am not using aux connectors or anything HDMI---so I dont know how that would go, although its all labeled and laid out pretty nicely.

Not worth the price, big disappointment!
I expected so much from Alpine, to only be disappointed. With a hefty price you would think this unit would have all types of features..a $500 Pioneer has more. No built in gps software, only plays avi, and mp4 video, but the worst is that it only plays 2 channels of audio, cannot decode more than 2 channels, so 5.1 audio wont work properly, only 1 usb, video quality is average, huge disappointment! Wont be buying Alpine in the future.
