Stampede BRC2005 Black Tailgate Cap

Sticks like a champ so far, other reviews say the corners peel. Time will tell and I’ll update as necessary.Install was super easy, just make sure everything is smooth and clean. Put on in 85ish degree AZ sun/heat so the tape stuck without question and didn’t budge.On an 07 dually with matching Stampede rail protectors.

its a great replacement for the original. If your using any screws on the visible side of the tailgate, then use just one screw in the middle otherwise it will expand in the heat, and pull away from the tailgate.

Product design can use some additional improvement; because of the molding, the side exposed to the outside of the tailgate has a tendency to lift away due to mlding tension. I have owned the cap for a month now and can see that the edges are beginning to pull on the tape. The side of the tape that is attached to the tailgate is fixed well; however, the side attached to the cap is beginning to lift away because of the tension.

i have a 08 dodge ram 1500 .and i put a hard cover on it factory tailgate wouldn't work .and pulling it off you have 4 holes in plan view .i did my research and this is the one that will work. And best of all just take out the bolts and leave the plugs in it covers them completely .if you have spray on bed liner you might have to mark the point of were the cover will go score with utility knife and remove that part of the bed liner witch is only 1 inch different from the OEM cover. But in all I'm really happy with the look of this tailgate cover

Installed very easily. Covers the holes from the factory tailgate cap. Also covered the factory adhesive I was unable ti remove from the inside. The reason for the three star rating is that the outside right side keeps coming up. For some reason the adhesive is not keeping it down on that corner. If I hold it down for a few minutes, it sticks, but within an hour it's not adhering again.

Fit exactly as advertised. I have a 2007 full size Ram truck and the tail gate cover fit perfectly. I use this type cover when I have my camper shell on the truck and change it out for the factory cover when I take off the camper shell. This cover does cover the screw holes from the factory cover, which is important. Also, this cover does not have tape over the screw hole location, which makes the cover fit better. Could not have asked for a better product.

It was great to have this tailgate protector to cover the holes in the tailgate from the Dodge plastic cover. I added the dodge OEM cover to protect my tailgate but then added a utility cap on the bed and had to remove the Dodge OEM cover. I hated having the holes show and being exposed to the weather. The stampede tailgate protector covers all 4 holes with 3M two face tape to hold the cover in place.

Easy installation, mine was for a 2007 Dodge Ram. With the installation of the tonneau cover I have you cannot leave on the OEM tail gate cap. When you remove the OEM unit it leaves exposed mounting holes. The Stampede unit is the only one I found that will cover these holes.
